Sunset, Moonrise

Sunset, Moonrise shows a small schooner on the Grand Banks in a calm after a gale. The fog has cleared, but the old rollers are still punishing with no breeze to steady her motion.

An image from memory of the beach I grew up on. When I was little there were still fish traps of Beach Point.

The S-4’s last surface run, Herring Cove Measured Mile, December 18, 1927

The S-4 was rammed and sunk by the USS Paulding as she surfaced at the end of the last submerged run a few minutes later.
